Map of Memorial Sites

The Berlin Wall has largely disappeared from the cityscape. The map shows the memorial sites that still exist today in Berlin: memorials provide information about the city’s division and the fatalities. Works of art reflect the aesthetic engagement with the subject, while information panels and publicly accessible exhibitions explain historical events and contexts related to the Berlin Wall. The map provides orientation and information. At the same time, it also serves as a kaleidoscope of the various forms of expression in remembrance culture over the decades.
