On May 21, 2010, the “Window of Remembrance” was unveiled as a central feature of the Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Strasse. This marked the completion of the first of four sections of the memorial site. In the “Window of Remembrance,” made of reddish-brown Corten steel, a window is dedicated to each known victim of the Wall, featuring their name, date of birth and death, and a photograph. To this day, it is a part of every guided tour at the Berlin Wall Memorial.
In memory of the victims of the Berlin Wall and their biographies, the Berlin Wall Foundation, together with the Evangelical Church Congregation of Reconciliation, also invites visitors to a daily prayer service at 12 noon on weekdays in the Chapel of Reconciliation.
