Info Panel on Puschkinallee

The former border strip between Treptow and Kreuzberg has been reconstructed as a green space along the length of the Flutgraben. The Berlin Wall History Mile info board describes the command post preserved here, which was built in 1963 when the border fortifications were expanded. It served as a control center also for other watchtowers, which were spaced about 300 meters apart along the border strip. The residential area southeast of here shows clear evidence of its former proximity to the border strip.

Another info board at the corner of Harzerstrasse and Bouchestrasse describes the border’s impact on the street divided by the Wall.
