Multimedia Exhibition at the Brandenburg Gate
No place epitomized the division of Germany and the world quite like the Brandenburg Gate, situated between walls, barbed wire, and watchtowers in the middle of the death strip. At the same time, Berlin’s most famous landmark symbolizes the unbroken will of the people to overcome the division of the world.
Located directly at the Brandenburg Gate on Pariser Platz—a place where the history of an entire generation is condensed—the Brandenburg Gate Wall Information Center highlights the historical sites of division.
The Wall Information Center is located on the mezzanine level of the Brandenburg Gate U- and S-Bahn station. It is accessible at all times and offers the following information services free of charge:
- Free internet access to the websites of the Berlin Wall Foundation, the Berlin State Government’s Berlin Wall portal, and the portal dedicated to those who died at the Berlin Wall.
- Aerial map showing the locations of the most important historical sites, memorials, and places of remembrance from the era of Berlin’s division
- Film about the GDR border fortifications in 1989/90
- A photo narrative on the history of the Brandenburg Gate on the platform
- Rental station for the Berlin Wall multimedia guide
