Airlift Memorial Steinstücken

The monument in Steinstücken commemorates the time when the town was a West Berlin exclave, as well as the important role played by the local helipad in supplying the city through the US military presence, particularly after the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961. It consists of a concrete base on which two helicopter rotor blades are mounted vertically, complemented by two brass plaques with explanatory information.
