East Side Gallery: Fokus Kunst (in einfachem Englisch)
Stretching over 1.3 kilometres between Ostbahnhof and Oberbaumbrücke, the East Side Gallery is one of Berlin's most famous sights. In 1990 over 118 artists from 21 countries created the East Side Gallery as the longest open-air gallery in the world. Today, the artworks help to keep the historic site alive and make its history accessible to visitors from all over the world.
In the guided tour in simplified english, the participants discover the history and the artworks of the East Side Gallery. With the guide they talk about the topics: German division, the Wall, the Wall's dead and reunification. In the process, they take a closer look at three artworks using a variety of methods and materials. Actively working with sensory tools enables participants to discover things for themselves and arouse curiosity around the topic.
