On August 13, 2026, the official commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the construction of the Berlin Wall will take place at the Berlin Wall Memorial. Furthermore, the Berlin Wall Foundation, along with Kulturprojekte Berlin, is coordinating numerous events across the city and organizing a program dedicated to remembrance that connects historically significant sites.
Further information will be provided shortly.
Our locations
The Foundation runs six sites in the Berlin metropolitan area. Admission is free. The sites focus primarily on the following topics: history of German division and the Berlin Wall, flight and emigration from the GDR, victims of the Berlin Wall, Berlin Wall art and Checkpoint Charlie.
About the Berlin Wall Foundation
We present history at the historical site. Our task is to document the history of the Berlin Wall and the migration movements from the GDR that occurred as part of and under the impact of the German division and the East-West conflict in the 20th century.
