Exhibition

The reconstructed Allied guardhouse and the American Sector sign currently define the memorial site. But the Checkpoint Charlie is a place in transition. At present, there are still various temporary exhibits: In addition to the “Through the Iron Curtain” exhibition by the Berlin Wall Foundation, there is currently a gallery wall display offering insights into the history of this historic site and its connections to the Cold War. In addition, the Asisi Panorama on the Berlin Wall depicts the inner-city border installations in the district of Kreuzberg from a West Berlin perspective. The new “Forum Checkpoint Charlie” is intended to transform these temporary exhibits into a modern, high-quality, and long-term memorial site.
