The Parliament of Trees is a place of remembrance of the division of Germany and its victims, but also a place for dialogue about the culture of remembrance, the environment and social change. The artist Ben Wagin (1939-2021) created the memorial in 1990 on the former border strip to visualise the history of the site and to commemorate war and violence.
Our educational programmes offer thematic and methodical approaches along the main themes of remembrance, nature and art. In addition to group tours for young people and adults, a workshop for children aged 5 to 12 invites them to engage interactively with art and nature.
