Accessibility Declaration
Scope of application: This declaration on accessibility applies to the website of the Berlin Wall Foundation (www.stiftung-berliner-mauer.de).
Accessibility efforts: The Berlin Wall Foundation endeavors to make its website accessible. This declaration on digital accessibility is made in accordance with the Berlin Act on Accessible Information and Communication Technology (BIKTG Bln). The technical requirements for accessibility are set out in the current Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV).
Status: This declaration was created or revised on June 5, 2025.
Review of accessibility: Accessibility was reviewed by the Senatskanzlei Berlin (Beauftragte für digitale Barrierefreiheit); the Foundation received the review report on June 6, 2024. The identified deficiencies were rectified by the editorial team and web support by May 2025. The current accessibility statement is based on a self-assessment including the audit report.
How accessible is the website? This website is mostly barrier-free. The requirements of BITV 2.0 are only not fully met in some places.
Which areas are not accessible?
- PDF documents
Some older PDF files on the website are not accessible. These will be successively replaced or supplemented.
- Empty headings
There may still be empty headings in a few areas. These are being corrected on an ongoing basis.
- German Sign Language
No information is currently available in German Sign Language. The content will be produced soon.
