Berlin Wall Memorial
- Exhibition on the outdoor grounds: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. (power will be switched off after 10 p.m.)
- Documentation Center: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (last ascent to the observation tower: 5.45 p.m.)
- Visitor Center: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- The exhibition at S-Bahnhof Nordbahnhof “Border and Ghost Stations in Divided Berlin” can be visited during the opening hours of the S-Bahn station.
The documentation center and visitor center is also open on:

The introductory film can not be shown on 2–4 October and 5–9 November due to a special event.

Admission to all our exhibitions is free
Prices for tours: €3.50 per person, reduced €2.50 (students, ALG 2 recipients, asylum-seekers, people with a disabled ID or Berlin Pass). Groups with less than ten people pay a flat fee of €35. There is no charge for schoolchildren.

Most of the outdoor exhibitions are barrier-free. Parking for people with disabilities is available at most sites. The permanent exhibitions and seminar rooms at the Berlin Wall Memorial and the Marienfelde Refugee Center are barrier-free. The Günter Litfin Memorial is not barrier-free.

FAQ
Where did the Wall stand?
From August 13, 1961 to November 9, 1989, the Berlin Wall enclosed West Berlin across 155 km and cut through the middle of the city center. Find more information here.
Which sites belong to the Berlin Wall Foundation?
Six historical sites belong to the Berlin Wall Foundation: The Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Strasse is the central memorial dedicated to German division; the Marienfelde Refugee Center Museum on flight and immigration from the GDR; the Günter Litfin Memorial honors Günter Litfin, the East Side Gallery and Parliament of Trees. The foundation is currently developing a concept for an educational site and memorial at Checkpoint Charlie.
Are the historical sites barrier-free?
The historic sites are mostly accessible without barriers. Please refer to the respective location pages for more information.
Are there special programs for kids and families?
The sites of the Berlin Wall Foundation offer a wide range of exciting activities designed specifically for children and their families on the history of German division, the Berlin Wall and flight from the GDR. More information here.

Do I need permission to film and take photographs at the historic sites?
In principle, all photo, film and audio recordings at all locations of the Berlin Wall Foundation must be registered and approved in advance. You can find more information here.
