Guided Tour

When the Wall divided Berlin

Together, we’ll explore Bernauer Straße in search of traces of the Berlin Wall, both big and small. We’ll discover why there’s a memorial here and what its purpose is. Along the way, we’ll ask some important questions: Why was the Wall built in the first place? How did it change people’s lives? And how did families experience the division of the city? We’ll also discuss who actually brought down the Wall.

Remnants of the Wall, photographs and eyewitness accounts help us in our search for answers. Together, we reflect on the memories within our families and the significance the Berlin Wall still holds today.
