140 People – 140 Names

Reading of the short biographies of the 140 victims at the Berlin Wall

Thursday, 13 August 2026, 1:00 – 4:30 pm

The Berlin Wall cut right through the heart of the city. It separated streets and neighborhoods, families, and friends. The violence at the border destroyed many lives. 140 people lost their lives at the Berlin Wall. The biographies of all the victims will be read aloud at the Berlin Wall Memorial on this year’s anniversary of the Wall’s construction. This series of events brings to light the names and individual stories of those who died at the Berlin border fortifications and keeps their memory alive.

This offer is part of the special program marking 65 years since the construction of the Berlin Wall.
