Berlin Wall Guided Tour and Creative Workshop
How did people suddenly find themselves unable to step out of their front doors onto the street? Why was the Berlin Wall so much more than just a wall? Children can explore these questions during an exciting, interactive guided tour of the memorial site on Bernauer Strasse.
Right after the tour, we head to our creative workshop. Here, children have space to creatively express their impressions, questions, and thoughts about the Berlin Wall. Drawing on their own observations, the stories they’ve discovered, and historical photographs, they create their own unique works—there are no limits to their ideas.
Using paper, photos, magazines, scissors, glue, washi tape, pens, and other materials, they’ll cut, glue, draw, and write. Together, we’ll create collages, zines (small magazines), leporellos, or pop-up cards. In the process, they’ll capture information from the tour, expand on the stories, and develop new perspectives.
