The Marienfelde Refugee Center Museum invites you to discover the history of German division and the German-German migration movement from 1949 to 1990.
The online exhibition provides an insight into the personal stories of people who came to Germany as refugees in 2011/12 and lived for a time in the temporary accommodation for refugees in the immediate vicinity of the Marienfelde Refugee Reception Center.
“Risking Freedom” consists of five multimedia tours presenting exemplary stories about German-German escape assistance from 1961-1989. Each tour includes documents, films, and interviews with contemporary witnesses.
