live speaking, 65 Years Berlin Wall Construction

Live Speaking

Saturday, 15 August 2026, 11:30 am – 2:00 pm

On Kieler Straße in Mitte stands a GDR watchtower dating from the Cold War era. But why? And why is it named after Günter Litfin? What does this site tell us today about freedom, borders and remembrance? On 13, 15 and 16 August, our guides will be on site for two-and-a-half hours each day in various languages to answer questions and recount the history of the Berlin Wall and the former command centre of the GDR border troops.

This offer is part of the special program marking 65 years since the construction of the Berlin Wall.
